Terms & Conditions

The Pig Pen’s Terms & Conditions of Sale
By consenting to these terms and conditions, you, the buyer are declaring your age to be 18 years or older.

Piglet Deposit

*To Reserve a micro mini piglet, the customer shall pay to the breeder, upon execution of this agreement, a non-refundable reservation fee in the amount of $250.  The customer understands and agrees that Breeder will not sell this piglet to another customer during the time that the piglet is on hold.  The final payment must be made prior to the piglets leaving for their new home.  In the event that the Customer changes their mind on the sale of the chosen piglet, for any reason, or fails to respond to correspondence about said piglet for an extended amount of time, the Breeder shall suffer losses that are difficult to ascertain.  As such, Customer agrees that, in the event of cancellation by Customer, such $250 shall be forfeited by Client and paid to the Breeder as liquidated damages and not as a penalty.  It covers the time that the Breeder has kept the piglet off the market from other prospective buyers and covers all vet fees that are for specific travel documents issued to individual piglets and purchasers.  Customer and Breeder agree that such an amount is reasonable at the time the deposit is received.
The deposit can be placed on any litter of your choosing at the time of payment.  If the buyer wishes to move their deposit to another future litter, this can be done, however, they will be put at the bottom of the current deposit list for said litter.  Once the piglet is chosen and deposited upon the piglet selection is solidified, and the buyer cannot change to another piglet. Once the piglet is chosen and deposited upon, payment dates will be arranged.

  • The piglet must be paid in full prior to them going home
  • A scheduled payment plan can be arranged

Piglet Contract
The buyer further agrees to the following conditions:

1. The deposit is considered non-refundable. Should the Buyer decide to no longer purchase piglet, all deposits and payments will be forfeited and no money will be returned to Buyer.

2. All payments must clear before Piglet leaves Sellers custody.

3. The Seller guarantees this mini pig to be of sound health at the time of this sale. Should the mini pig be determined to be ill upon arrival by the Buyer, the Mini Pig, may, upon a signed written diagnosis from a licensed Veterinarian, within 24 hours of Buyer taking possession of the pig, be replaced with a new Mini Pig from the next litter.

4. The Buyer agrees to provide a life-long commitment, a comfortable environment, prompt medical attention, proper grooming, and responsible care. This includes providing the mini pig with proper nutrition, which consists of mini pig food, fruits, vegetables, a few treats, and fresh water available at all times. The Buyer promises to provide a safe environment for the mini pig, and never allow the mini pig to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision.

5. The Buyer shall provide the Pig with necessary veterinary care upon sickness, disease, or injury.

6. If at any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of this Mini Pig, the Seller is happy to guide the Buyer through the process of rehoming their Mini Pig. Our goal is to find Mini Pigs the forever homes that they deserve. We will not resume ownership of the Mini Pig but will offer training support and guidance on where and how to best find their pet a new family. If the Buyer plans to re-home said Mini Pig, the Seller must first be contacted. Prior to re-homing the Mini Pig, the buyer must have met all contract requirements. The Seller is to be part of the re-homing process, and the new owner must sign the same contract. Under no circumstances will this Mini Pig be sold, leased, traded, or given away to any pet shop, research laboratory, animal shelter, or similar facility. The goal of this clause is to keep any Mini Pig that was bred at our facility from being abandoned, mistreated, or put into a shelter.

7. The Buyer understands that this is a 12-15 year commitment of a living, breathing creature and this commitment should not be taken lightly.

8. The Buyer agrees to contact the Seller immediately if any questions or concerns arise about the Mini Pig, such as housing, diet, or health. The Seller is here to support the Buyer in the ownership of the Mini Pig.

9. The buyer agrees to keep the Seller informed of any significant health issues with his or her Mini Pig. This provides the Breeder/Seller with an opportunity to follow up on the Mini Pig and gives the Breeder/Seller important feedback and information on the health or our Mini Pigs for future generations.

10. All charges relative to the shipping or delivery charges of this Pig to the Buyer are to be assumed by the Buyer.

11. Buyer releases Seller and Seller’s estates from any and all liabilities and/or damage by the fault of this Pig after the time of sale. These damages include, but are not limited to, destruction of property and/or physical damage to any person or group of people.

12. Both the Seller and the Buyer will receive a signed copy of this contract. Any litigation or arbitration arising from this purchase will be held in Youngstown, Ohio.

Right to Reserve Business
**We reserve the right to refuse business to anyone for any reason at our discretion.  Should we feel that an animal is not a good fit or someone refuses to purchase items necessary to the animals’ survival, we reserve the right to refuse the sale.  We do not take this decision lightly, nor do we take our responsibility to the animals we care for and place lightly.  With over 5 million companion animals ending up in shelters nationwide each year, we are very careful to only place our animals in secure, forever homes.

Medical Info

All surgeries are performed by our local veterinarians. We pay for all services, but we cannot guarantee the surgeries. If you have concerns after the surgeries that were performed let us know and we will get you the contact information to speak with the clinics and doctor that performed the specific surgery. Additionally, sometimes not all internal parts are fully removed during surgery. Their internal parts are so tiny at the time they are neutered and spayed that sometimes small remnants can be left. We cannot be held accountable for this, but we can connect you with the veterinarian who performed the surgery and you can discuss it with them.

All incisions made during surgery need to heal and occasionally delayed healing can occur.

All surgery has associated risks, and understanding these risks will help you feel more comfortable about them. In general, small procedures have small risks, and major procedures have larger risks. It makes sense that if an incision is necessary for a procedure, there will be a scar. Likewise, when the skin is cut, there is a possibility of bleeding. Finally, until the incision is fully healed, there is a possibility of contracting an infection. Many steps are taken to reduce all of these risks, but even if everything is performed perfectly, a small chance remains that something may occur.
